Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) With DTC P24AE Or P24B1

6.7L – MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P24AE OR P24B1 – BUILT ON OR BEFORE 5/20/2015

2015 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and built on or before 5/20/2015 may exhibit a MIL with DTC P24AE or P24B1.

This condition may be associated with the particulate matter (PM) sensor.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Connect the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent Scan Tool to the data link connector (DLC). Does the vehicle have DTC P24AE or P24B1 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory?
1. No – this article does not apply. Refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnosis.
2. Yes – proceed to Step 2.
Replace PM sensor.
