F750 chassis from May 2015 to January 2020.
Refer to SIL 790 for the items covered under the warranty policy. Altec will supply the necessary parts to correct this condition free of charge.
In order to determine if your unit is affected by SIL 790, compare the serial number of your unit with the list of affected units attached to the SIL. The product improvement can be performed by the customer or you may contact Altec at 1-877-GO-ALTEC (1-877-462-5832) for further assistance.
At any time, you may contact Altec at 1-877 GO ALTEC (1-877-462-5832) with your unit’s serial number to determine if there are any other outstanding notices.

Hydraulic Line/Air Brake Line Inspection
Altec is committed to providing our customers safe and reliable products from initial delivery throughout the useful life of the machine.
It has been discovered that some hydraulic lines installed by Altec may be in contact with chassis air brake line(s). Some DOT inspections have considered this to be a violation of federal regulation 49 CFR § 393.45 b 2. Over time, chafing of the air brake line(s) could result in loss of air pressure and reduction in braking performance.
Altec requires the routing of the hydraulic lines to be inspected no later than the next periodic maintenance interval. Use the Inspection Procedure beginning on page 2.
Altec has developed a kit to reroute and restrain the hydraulic lines away from the air brake lines. If the inspection shows contact between the hydraulic lines and the air brake line(s), order the Hose Clamp Installation Kit, part number 991080993, by calling 1-877-GO ALTEC (1-877-462-5832). Install the kit as soon as it is received. In addition, if the inspection reveals damage to the air brake line(s), have the damaged brake line(s) replaced by a shop certified in air brake repair.
The inspection and repair are covered under the Altec Warranty Policy and can be performed by Altec, the customer, or the customer’s warranty provider. Altec will perform the inspection and repair for free at an Altec facility. If the customer or the customer’s warranty provider performs the work, a warranty claim must be submitted to be reimbursed for the cost of the parts and/or labor. Altec will allow up to $45 for the labor to perform the inspection and up to $90 for the labor to perform the kit installation. Call 1-877-GO ALTEC (1-877-462-5832) to schedule the work to be done by an Altec service technician. The customer is responsible for the travel costs of an Altec Mobile Service technician if the technician performs the work at the owner’s location.

Inspection Procedure
1. Position the unit on a level surface. Apply the parking brake and chock the wheels. Turn off the engine
and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Find the brake valve located on the street side of the chassis directly below the pedestal and above the
brake chamber (refer to Figures 1 and 2).

3. Check whether the pressure, sense, and/or tank hydraulic lines coming down from the pedestal are in
contact with any of the air lines coming from the brake valve (refer to Figures 3 and 4).
• If none of the hydraulic lines contact any of the air brake lines, no modification is needed. Return the
unit to service. Complete the Inspection Sheet at the end of the SIL.
• If any of the hydraulic lines contact any of the air brake lines, inspect the air brake lines for wear or
damage in the area(s) of contact.
– If no wear or damage is found on the air brake lines, order the Hose Clamp Installation Kit, part
number 991080993. Return the unit to service, and install the kit as soon as it is received. Do not
complete the Inspection Sheet at the end of the SIL.

– If any air brake line(s) show wear or damage, take the unit out of service. Order the Hose Clamp
Installation Kit, part number 991080993, and schedule its installation. After the kit has been installed,
have the damaged air brake line(s) replaced by a shop certified in air brake repair. Do not
