Summary
Some 2021-2022 F-Super Duty/F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and built on or after 15-Apr-2021, with less than 300 miles (483 km), may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P20E8 and/or P208B stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due the reductant pump and heater assembly losing prime during extended vehicle storage. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to prime the reductant pump and heater assembly.
This bulletin supersedes 22-2084.

Summary
This article supersedes TSB 22-2084 to update the Issue and Action statement.
Issue: Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles built on or before 22-Feb-2022 may experience a false alarm activation event with a trailer connected and/or a U0143:87 stored in the trailer module (TRM). Vehicles that exhibit a false alarm activation may also display a Security System Detected A Trailer Disconnect message in the FordPass app. This may be due to various software parameters in the TRM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TRM, driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM).
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2021-2022 F-150
- Built on or before 22-Feb-2022
- One or more of the following symptoms:
Service Procedure
1. Check the TRM for a software update using the latest software level of the Ford
Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Is there a software update available for the TRM?
(1). Yes – download and run the TRM – Trailer Module (TRM) Software Update app. Proceed to Step 2.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-01.
2. Check the DDM and the PDM for software updates using the latest software level of FDRS scan tool. Is there a software update available for the DDM and/or the PDM?
(1). Yes – download and run the DDM – Driver Door Module (DDM) Software Update app and/or the PDM – Passenger Door Module (PDM) Software Update app. Proceed to Step 3.
(2). No – repair is complete.
3. Perform the Power Door Window Initialization for the driver and/or passenger front windows by downloading and running the DDM and/or PDM Power Door Window Initialization app in FDRS.

- Meets GM Original Equipment specifications to be approved for use in GM vehicles as well as in non-GM diesel vehicles that have an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system to meet regulated NOx emissions (Based on EPA certification testing. Your actual emissions will vary based on several factors including temperature, terrain, and driving conditions).
- High quality formula is made from high purity urea and deionized water.
- Meets API regulations and ISO 22241 standard for purity and concentration
- Nozzles sold separately
- One gallon of BlueDEF is used approximately every 300 miles
- A truck with a 20 gallon DEF tank can go up to 6000 miles between fill-ups
- When used in an SCR system BlueDEF will reduce the levels of NOx emissions of those engines
- Non-flammable
- Diesel exhaust fluid
- Prime Guard DEF is a safe, environmentally friendly solution for Selective Catalytic Reduction
- Prime Guard DEF meets the stringent ISO 22241, AUS 32 and DIN 70070 standards for purity and concentration
- Prime Guard DEF is an ultrapure, formaldehyde-free, NOx reducing treatment specifically formulated for diesel engines equipped with SCR systems
- Prime Guard DEF is API certified, guaranteeing the quality and suitability for proper SCR operation
- Prime Guard DEF 2.5 Gallon single-pack box includes a dispensing nozzle for an easy pour
- Excellent for diesel vehicles driven regularly at slow speeds, low loads, short durations or make frequent stops as these are more prone to having the problem of crystallization deposit build up in the SCR system.
- Regular use every 5,000 miles not only keeps the system clean, but works to prevent the white crystallization issues from returning.
- Will not void manufacturer’s new vehicle warranty. Specifically designed and safe to use on vehicles which have DOC catalytic converters, DPF particulate filters, SCR selective catalytic reduction devices, ASC ammonia slip catalyst or DEF / AdBlue systems.
- Works with all AdBlue, Aria 32 (Automotive Nitrogen Oxide Liquid Reducing Agent), AUS 32 (Aqueous Urea Solution), BlueHDi, BlueTEC, Cummins, DEF UREA, Duramax, EcoDiesel, PowerStroke, TDI Clean Diesel, and many more.
- DEF Crystal Clean is specifically designed to only be installed in the Diesel Exhaust Fluid / AdBlue tank which usually has a blue cap. Do not add to the diesel fuel tank.
