This article supersedes TSB 18-2391 to update the Service Procedure attachments.
Issue: Some 2017 Ford GT vehicles equipped with parallel transmission gearset and clutch coolers may exhibit intermittent clutch fluid overheating when used in track conditions.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2017 Ford GT
- Equipped with parallel transmission gearset and clutch coolers
- Intermittent clutch fluid overheating when used in track conditions

Service Procedure
NOTE: Only a certified GT service dealer can order parts for a GT, submit warranty claims on GT repairs, and service a GT. Certified GT dealers cannot order parts for dealers that are not GT certified.
- Inspect the factory equipped transmission gearset and clutch cooler by looking thru the rear fascia grille opening at the left side of the rear bumper cover. (Figure 1) Is the vehicle equipped with a perpendicular transmission gearset and clutch cooler? (Figure 2-3)
(1). Yes – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-02 for normal diagnostics.
(2). No – proceed to Step 2.
- Complete the transmission clutch cooler repair using the attached work instructions.
NOTE: This procedure is considered one that is complex and involves a high level of repair difficulty. For all technical assistance from Multimatic, contact the Ford GT Concierge using the Ford dealer access phone number.
NOTE: A bill of materials (BOM) is attached for the transmission clutch cooler repair kit. Please review the BOM to verify all parts are present before beginning the repair.
- Place the revised Owners Manual addendum card provided in the parts kit into the Owners Manual sleeve and notify the customer.
(1). If the Owners Manual kit is covered in original shipping material, do not remove from packaging. If the Owners Manual is not present, place the addendum card in the storage bag.
