Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Service Procedure
1. Is the vehicle built on or before 29-Jan-2018 and does it exhibit a liftgate window glass that opens uncommanded and/or a power liftgate that opens or closes uncommanded while in park?
(1). Yes – proceed to Step 2.
(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03 for normal diagnostics.
2. Remove the reversing lamp assembly. Refer to WSM, Section 417-01.
3. Remove the five upper screws from the liftgate moulding bracket. (Figure 1)

4. Detach the clips on the liftgate molding and disconnect the lower close-out from the reversing lamp. (Figures 2 – 3)

5. Disconnect the liftgate release switch electrical connector, liftgate window glass release electrical switch connector, both license plate lamp electrical connectors, rear camera coaxial cable connector, and trailer backup lamp electrical connector if equipped.
6. Remove the wire harness from the liftgate molding bracket.
7. Remove the liftgate release switch by squeezing the retaining clips and pushing from the inside of the liftgate molding outward. (Figure 4)

8. Install new liftgate release switch.
9. Remove the liftgate window glass switch by squeezing the retaining clips and pushing from the inside of the liftgate molding outward. (Figure 4)
10. Install new liftgate window glass switch.
11. Install a new wiring harness and attach it to the liftgate molding bracket and make all appropriate connections.
12. Reattach liftgate molding bracket to reversing lamp.
13. Reinstall reversing lamp assembly. Refer to WSM, Section 417-01.
14. If equipped, perform the 360 Degree View Camera Alignment. Refer to WSM 413-13B.
