SSM 47305 – 2018 F-Super Duty – 6R140 – Howl, Flutter And/Or Whine Noise Typically In 4th And/Or 6th Gear – Built On Or After 29-Jan-2018
Some 2018 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or after 29-Jan-2018 equipped with a 6R140 automatic transmission may experience a howl, flutter and/or whine noise typically in 4th and/or 6th gear that appears to be coming from under the dash near the right side of the steering column.
This may be due to the new shorter shift cable that could allow noise to be transferred into the vehicle.
An updated shift cable is available that resolves the issue.
