Coolant Leak Upper Radiator Hose – 2008 Ford Focus

Coolant leak.

2008 FordeBay logo Focus models built through 10/31/07 may leak small amounts of coolant at the upper radiator hose connection.

Although they may be difficult to spot, a likely cause is minute cracks in the plastic upper hose clamp.

The cracks cause the clamp to stretch and lose tension, which in turn leads to pressurized coolant leaking between the upper hose and radiator fitting.

Cutting off the plastic clamp and replacing it with a conventional worm-type steel clamp should stop the leakage.
