SSM 47174 – 2011-2018 Fiesta, 2012-2018 Focus – DPS6 – First Order Engine Vibration After Installation Of The Transmission Or Engine
Some 2011-2018 Fiesta and 2012-2018 Focus vehicles equipped with a DPS6 transmission may exhibit a first order engine vibration, primarily at idle, but in all gear ranges after installation of the engine, transmission or clutch assembly.
This may be due to improper alignment of the flexplate to clutch index marks or failure to torque the flexplate to clutch nuts in the sequence specified in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01 (2014-2018 Fiesta and 2012-2018 Focus) or Section 307-11 (2011-2013 Fiesta). WSM sections have been updated with a new two-step torque sequence, as well as animations showing the correct and incorrect torque sequence.
The DPS6 Transmission And Dual Clutch Service GSB and the 7B546 kit instruction sheet has also been updated with new findings on the cause of this vibration and how it can be avoided with the proper indexing and torque sequence.
