ISSUE:
Some 2015 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.5L or 3.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0627 (Fuel Pump A Control Circuit/Open) stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Connect the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent scan tool to the data link connector (DLC). Check for DTCs. Is P0627 stored in the PCM memory?
- Yes – replace the fuel pump driver module (FPDM). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-04.
- No – this article does not apply. Refer to Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual for normal diagnostics.
