2018 – F-150 – Ambient Lighting – Multi-Color Settings Inoperative
2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with ambient lighting will only have a single color.
The multi-color option, ability to dim and turn on/off are no longer available in 2018 model year.
No repair attempts should be made to address the ability to enable color change, dim or turn on/off the ambient lighting feature.

I bought a 2019 today. And i cant change the ambient light color. Then I found that in 2018 the cor change option was removed. Now I love my Ford trucks, this was a cool feature, but for sure no deal breaker. Everyone saying false advertising it has the ambient light we can no longer change the color that is all. They didn’t say changeable on the sticker it just says ambient lighting, it has that. So our lives are the same as before.
Really. Won’t buy another ford cause it doesn’t have ambient lighting. I’m sure your makeup table at home will give you the light you need to do your face. Stores are full of lights you can put in. Pretty pathetic reason to bash a company’s product. Here’s an idea. Keep your damn eyes on the road where they should be
This a HUGE disappointment. My nephew has a 2017 with this feature and I have just bought the 2018 Lariat and it’s loaded and the “Ambiant Lighting” is listed on the sticker but it isn’t there. This is WRONG and Ford should make the feature work or give a rebate to purchasers and REOMOVE it from the window sticker. Even my salesman didn’t know it wasn’t there anymore and neither did anybody else at the dealership.

Not happy,, loved my 2015 Lariat so rolling over to a 2018 seemed to be a no brainer. Seems the “Better Idea” boys no longer value the opinion of their valued customers.
Just bought new ford Lariat …..totally disappointed to learn the Ambient lighting is NOT ambient lighting may not have bought it had I known this as it was tough decision anyway
This is a bait and switch. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely false advertising. Not sure if it’s class action worthy but Ford should consider compensating all those who bought a vehicle with ambient lighting.

The window sticker on my 2018 states the Ambient Lighting as if it’s an option. I enjoyed this feature on my 2017 LARIAT 501A and never once questioned its function while upgrading to my 2018 LARIAT 502A…..Since it is stated on the sticker” in the same fashion as my previous 2017 F150 “LARIATE”.
This is nothing but a glorified dome light and you can’t even dim or brighten it.

Just picked up my brand new 2018 F-150 Lariat Special Edition Sport ($62,000) and spent 20 mins with the salesman looking for the damn ambient lighting. I was about to return the truck…so disappointed! At least it has than dimmed Carolina blue light. Why would Ford get rid of that feature….it’s not ambient Lighting if you can’t change the color!!!!!
One of the first things I tried to do when I got my new 2018 F150 home was change the ambient lighting color to match the red accents in the cab. Shocked to learn Ford dropped this feature. What the he!! were you thinking Ford? It’s NEVER a good idea to go backwards. I want it back!! Please!!!!

pretty much sux. I just bought a 2018 with the dim Carilona blue lighting and thats it. no contrio whatsoever.
I hoping I could turn it on with the OBD2 MX adaptar and the fore-scan software but it sounds like you guys say that’s not an option either ??
On my last F150 I added a Brake controller that would not work until I enabled it with Fore-scan.
Totally agree and I’m shocked! I test drove a 2017 but wanted the most recent year, so purchased a new 2018 Raptor. Needless to say, this was a HUGE surprise and an even BIGGER disappointment!!!
Please re-enable or provide a dealer fix for this. This is very poor business.
Ford should stop advertising that thoes 18 f150 has ambient lighting.
We cannot change the color any longer. Very disappointed. My 15 f150 we use to change the color for the grandchildren now with the new truck we can no longer do it. Please bring back the colors. If it is a safety issue just disable it if the vehicle is in motion.
Agreed with above. My 2015 KR had ambient lighting and I loved it. It influenced me positively and those that rode with me. The SINGLE blue color in my 2018 is too dim. It is almost useless to even have.
