SSM 46292 – 2015-2017 F-150 – Inoperative Tailgate During Freezing Temperatures – Mechanical Tailgate Handle And Remote Control Tailgate Lock – Built On Or Before 28-NOV-2016
Some 2015-2017 F-150 vehicles built on or before 28-Nov-2016 equipped with a mechanical tailgate handle and remote control tailgate lock may exhibit a tailgate that will not open during freezing temperatures due to a frozen tailgate latch control assembly.
To correct this concern install a revised tailgate latch control assembly part number FL3Z-9943170-E.
Refer to Workshop Manual Section 501-14.
For claiming, use causal part 9943170 and applicable labor operations in section 12 of the service labor time standards (SLTS) manual.
