The article supersedes TSB 13-2-19 to update the the Service Procedure, Part List and warranty causal base part number.
ISSUE:
Some 2009-2012 Escape and 2009-2011 Mariner vehicles may exhibit rust or corrosion on the front seat track assemblies.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Remove the affected front seat assembly. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10.
- Remove seat track from seat base. Refer to WSM, Section 501-10.
- Clean the track assembly with a wax and grease remover and allow to dry. Use Motorcraft Metal Brake Parts Cleaner or equivalent.
- Remove rust and corrosion using 220 grit sandpaper.
- Blow loose material from the seat track with compressed air, and clean again with Motorcraft Metal Brake Parts Cleaner or equivalent.
- Mask off motor and harness. (Figure 1)

Semi-Gloss Black Engine Paint or equivalent. Allow adequate time for drying. - Install seat track and seat. Refer to WSM, Section 501-10.
