2017 F-Super Duty – Keyless Ignition (Push Button Start) Only – Automatic Engine Shutdown Feature
2017 F-Super Duty vehicles with keyless ignition (push button start) are equipped with a feature that automatically shuts down the engine if it has been idling with no activity for an extended period (approximately 30 minutes).
This is a normal operating characteristic.
Before the engine shuts down, a message appears in the information display showing a timer counting down from 30 seconds.
If the customer does not intervene within 30 seconds, the engine shuts down.
The customer cannot permanently disable the automatic engine shutdown feature but can disable it temporarily for each intended use using the instrument cluster message center on the current ignition key cycle.
