Some 2016 F-Super Duty, F-650/F-750 – Equipped With 6.7L Engine And TorqShift6 Transmission – MIL On – DTC P054F
Some 2016 Model Year F-Super Duty and F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with 6.7L engine with TorqShift6 transmissions built on or before 2/15/2016 may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P054F stored in memory.
This may be caused by a failed torque converter one way clutch.
Prior to performing diagnosis for DTC P054F; perform torque converter (TC) stall speed test (SST).
Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 307-01B.
For this specific SST test, line pressure test is not required prior to performing the test.
If engine stall speed is unable to reach the minimum RPM range specified, recommend replacement of: TC, TC hub seal, filter, fluid and flush cooler lines.
