New Dye Service Procedure:

*IF FACTORY FILL OIL WITH DYE IS PRESENT, CHANGE OIL AND  FILTER PRIOR TO USING NEW DYE.*

Use the 12 Volt Rotunda 164-R3748 or 164-TP8695 Pure UV Diagnostic Inspection Lamp  with white dye part number 164-TP33200601 to carry out the following procedure for engine oil leak diagnosis.

Refer to Workshop Manual Section 303-00. Under Diagnosis and Testing, locate the  “Engine Oil Leaks – Fluorescent Oil Additive Method “ Component test and follow the WSM instructions.

NOTE: This new dye will glow fluorescent white rather than the traditional bright yellow or orange.

  • If transmission leak is suspect, use Rotunda Tracerline 164-R3700 or 164-R3754 automatic transmission / power-steering fluid dye that fluoresces yellow and yellow/green respectively to aid in differentiating a leak between an engine and transmission.

WANJAO 100ML Engine Oil Dye Leak Detection Kit, Accurately Locate Leaks
  • Superior Fluorescence Performance: Formulated with a safe formula, the oil dye emits a bright yellow-green fluorescence under light after application. It contrasts sharply with engine grease and dark parts, clearly indicating the location of leaks.
  • Long-lasting Stability: The oil leak detection kit has a low odor and remains stable under extreme storage conditions, without crystallizing or separating. It can remain in the system indefinitely for long-term monitoring, allowing for easy re-inspection of repairs.
  • Precise use and easy cleaning: The wearable syringe allows for precise dosage control, preventing dye spillage and accurately locating multiple small leak points. In the event of spillage, the dye can be easily removed with a special cleaning agent.
  • Instructions for Use: First, add the recommended amount of engine oil dye directly to the tank or dipstick. Second, run the system for 5 to 15 minutes (or a short drive) to allow the dye to circulate and mix fully with the liquid. For systems that are not running, wait 2-3 hours for the dye to disperse. Then, dim the inspection area and illuminate all suspected leaks and seams with the dedicated light. Finally, look for bright yellow or green fluorescence in the inspection area. The glowing liquid or puddle indicates the leak. Locate leaks and repair as needed.
  • Wide Applications: The product has broad compatibility; the dye circulates with the oil, allowing for leak detection without clogging or damaging oil lines. Safe for use with hydraulic oil, engine oil, compressor oil, gear oil, and transmission fluid.
