2015-2016 Transit – 3.2L Diesel – Illuminated Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL)- Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P040D
Some 2015-2016 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.2L Duratorq-TDCi engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P040D caused by a failed exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor (EGRT11).
EGRT11 sensor improvements are under development.
In the meantime, dealers are advised to replace the EGRT11 on Transit vehicles with a P040D without performing pinpoint tests.
