Some 2004-2016 Econoline/F-Super Duty with a Dana 70 or Dana 80 Trac-Loc Limited-Slip Differential may exhibit a rear axle chatter during turns.
If normal diagnosis leads to differential clutch chatter as the cause, engineering recommendation is to first add XL-3 Friction Modifier or equivalent, meeting Ford
specification EST M2C118-A to the rear axle lubricant.
For axle fill capacity of 2.84L (6 pints) or less, 1 bottle or 118 ml(4 fl. oz.) of XL-3
