| TSB 15-0122 | 6.8L – MIL ON WITH DTC P0300 AND/OR P0316 – BUILT ON 8/18/2014 AND THROUGH 10/6/2014 |
ISSUE:
Some 2015 F-53 Motorhome Chassis and F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine and built on 8/18/2014 and through 10/6/2014 may exhibit an illuminated or flashing malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0300 and/or P0316 present in the powertrain control module (PCM) with no other driveability symptoms.
The front end accessory drive (FEAD) belt may contribute to false misfires.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
- Replace the FEAD belt. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-05.
- Connect the Ford
Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or equivalent scan tool, to the data link connector (DLC).
