Summary
Some 2015-2022 Transit vehicles may experience a snap, click and/or pop noise from the door check when opening/closing the front door(s). This may be due to a cracked/broken door check and/or fastener. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect/replace the front door check and/or fastener.

Issue: Some 2015-2022 Transit vehicles may experience a snap, click and/or pop noise from the door check when opening/closing the front door(s). This may be due to a cracked/broken door check and/or fastener. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect/replace the front door check and/or fastener.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition if the vehicle meets the following criteria:
- 2015-2022 Transit
- At least one of the following conditions:
- Snap, click and/or pop noise from the front door check when opening/closing
- The door check and/or fastener is cracked/broken

Service Procedure
1. Inspect the door check. (Figure 1) Is the door check cracked/broken?

(1). Yes – replace the door check and fastener. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03 Body Closures. Proceed to Step 2.
(2). No – replace only the fastener. Proceed to Step 2.
2. Partially install the door check and fastener. (Figure 2)

3. Apply 2-3 drops of Motorcraft® Threadlock 262 to the fastener. (Figure 3-4)

4. Tighten the door check fastener to 22 lb-ft (30 Nm).
5. Reinstall the front door trim panel. Refer to WSM, Section 501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.
