Summary
Some 2020-2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 vehicles may exhibit an intermittent parking brake fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C1034, C2005, C2006, C2007 and/or C2008 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module and/or a parking brake that sticks after being applied. This may be due to internal binding of the piston within the parking brake caliper. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the parking brake caliper(s).

Issue: Some 2020-2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 vehicles may exhibit an intermittent parking brake fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C1034, C2005, C2006, C2007 and/or C2008 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module and/or a parking brake that sticks after being applied. This may be due to internal binding of the piston within the parking brake caliper. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the parking brake caliper(s).
Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2020-2022 Mustang Shelby GT500
- At least one of the following:
- Parking Brake Fault and/or Service Brake System message in the IPC
- ABS module DTCs C1034, C2005, C2006, C2007 and/or C2008
- Parking brake sticking/staying applied after being commanded off
- Extreme, uneven and/or premature parking brake lining wear

Service Procedure
1. Remove both rear wheels. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-04A.
2. Inspect the stamped date on both the left and right parking brake calipers as indicated in Figure 1. Does the printed date range on either caliper fall between 21G27 (21= Model Year 2021, G=month of July, 27 = 27th day of month) and through 21L03 (21=Year 2021, L=month of December, 3 = 3rd day of month)? (Figure 1).

3. Replace the parking brake caliper(s) that have a date range which fall between the stamped date range mentioned in Step 2. Refer to WSM, Section 206-05B.
4. If the original fault persists, Refer to WSM, Section 206-05B and continue with normal diagnostics.
