MKC – Center Console Rear AC Power Outlet Socket Door Will Not Open
2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with AC power outlet socket can exhibit a condition with the door becoming jammed or locked closed.
This may be due to the door spring not being properly positioned when the door is installed.
Do not try to force the door open as this may cause damage to the door or interfacing components.
Remove the floor console rear end cap and dislodge the door by pushing it from the back side of the end cap.
Re-install the end cap and door. Reference updated Workshop Manual (WSM) for the correct door/spring position installation.
