Some 2021-2022 Mustang
Mach-E vehicles built on or before 15-Mar-2022 may exhibit a Parking Brake Fault Service Now message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and DTCs C2007, C2008, C1034, U0293 and/or U0100 in the antilock brake system (ABS) module. This may be due to an open/corroded circuit near the rear caliper. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the electronic parking brake (EPB) connector.

Issue: Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 15-Mar-2022 may exhibit a Parking Brake Fault Service Now message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and DTCs C2007, C2008, C1034, U0293 and/or U0100 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be due to an open/corroded circuit near the rear brake caliper. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the electronic parking brake (EPB) connector.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to repair vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E
- Built on or before 15-Mar-2022
- At least one of the following:
- Parking Brake Fault Service Now message in the IPC
- DTCs C2007, C2008, C1034, U0293 and/or U0100

Service Procedure
NOTE: This repair applies to either side.
1. Remove both rear tires. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 204-04A.
2. Remove the tape and the conduit on the wiring harness to both the left/right rear brake calipers.
3. Inspect the wiring for damage or open circuit. Is there a damaged or open circuit? (Figure 1)
(1). Yes – proceed to Step 4.
(2). No – proceed to Step 9.

4. Disconnect the EPB connector (left C4CB16, right C4CB18) from the back of the rear brake caliper(s).
5. Detach the clips retaining the harness to the trailing arm. (Figure 2)

6. Remove the tie straps securing the retainers to the harness.
7. Starting near the connector, remove the conduit for approximately 12 in. (30 cm)
NOTE: EPB circuits are polarized. Inverted circuit location can result in incorrect operation. Refer to the connector chart.

8. Replace the connector(s) following the repair procedures in Cell 005 of the Wiring Diagrams on Professional Technician System (PTS).
9. Reinstall the conduit and trim the conduit length 1.2 in.(30 mm) from EPB connector (left C4CB16, right C4CB18). (Figure 3)

10. Tape the wiring harness.
11. Install the tie straps securing the retainers to the harness with elbow retainer in proper length 3.5 in. (96 mm) from the EPB connector (left C4CB16, right C4CB18). (Figure 3)
12. Attach the clips to the trailing arm.
13. Connect the EPB connector.
14. Install both rear tires. Refer to WSM, Section 204-04A.
