Summary
This article supersedes TSB 21-2109 to update the vehicle model years affected.
Issue: Some 2020-2021 Transit vehicles may experience a pop/sizzle/crack noise from the exhaust. This may be due to water dripping on the exhaust from the evaporator drain tube. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to extend the length of the evaporator drain tube.
Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:
- 2020-2021 Transit
- Pop/sizzle/crack noise due to water dripping on the exhaust
NOTE: Part quantity refers to the number of that service part number required, which may be different than the number of individual pieces. Service part numbers contain 1 piece unless otherwise stated. “As Needed” indicates the part is required but the number may vary or is not a whole number; parts can be billed out as non-whole numbers, including less than 1.

Service Procedure
1. Apply a thin coat of Motorcraft® Seam Sealer (Black) to the inside of one end of a locally acquired vinyl tube measuring 5 cm (2 in.) long and an inner diameter of 13 mm (1/2 in.).
2. Install the vinyl tube from the top side of the vehicle to the evaporator drain tube. Use a set of pliers to extend the reach if necessary. (Figure 1)
