Summary

Issue: Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with rubberized flooring may encounter a white chalky/dull appearance due to excessive wax raising from the surface. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to clean the rubberized floor.

 

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

• 2021-2022 Bronco
• Equipped with rubberized flooring
• White chalky/dull appearance

Service Procedure

NOTE: Certain areas of the vehicle will require seat adjustment to gain better access to certain areas of the rubberized flooring. Pay close attention to the area of the rubberized floor that have high ridges and that are visible upon vehicle entry such as between the seats and the door sill plates.

1. Vacuum the vehicle floor to remove any dirt and loose debris.

2. Scrub the surface with a clean, dry nylon bristled brush. It may be necessary to scrub with more intensity over areas of the flooring that are more contoured. (Figures 1 before vs Figure 2 after).

NOTE: While scrubbing, crystals of the wax (white/chalk) may accumulate in the lower areas of the flooring.

3. Vacuum again to remove excess/loosened residue off the surface of the floor from scrubbing.

4. Apply L.A.’s Totally Awesome™ all purpose cleaner or equivalent to a 6 inch x 6 inch (15 cm x 15 cm) area at a time. Use the cleaner and a non-abrasive cloth to remove the remaining residue from the rubberized flooring.

NOTE: L.A.’s Totally Awesome™ all purpose cleaner is the preferred cleaning solution. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application.

5. Use a clean, dry, non-abrasive cloth to remove all wetness left by the cleaning solution.

NOTE: A clean non-abrasive cloth dampened with water may be used if the cleaner has dried before removal.

6. Allow ample time (approximately 15 minutes) for the rubberized flooring to completely dry and closely inspect to ensure all chalky/dull areas have been removed. If any imperfections remain, perform the above steps again.
