Getting the run around after replacing hankook tires at 23,000 mile that were wore out, on our 2016 explorer replaced with hankook, new set now at 11,000 and these hankook tires are wore out and starting to shred. Getting no help from hankook. What’s the deal? Way I look at, is that these tires should be replaced and we should get our $900 back from second set.

Tell your dealer to look up SSM 47195.

While having the oil changed on my 2017 Ford Explorer Limited Platinum, the people doing change told me my tires were showing extensive wear for 18,400 miles. When I got home I looked up problems and saw the problems some owners were having with Hankook Tires. I called the Hankook Support Center , after calling two Ford dealers . One dealer knew nothing about the problem. The other dealer said he had had one with problem, but it was such a problem they were not going to do any more. Hankook rep told me to see a Hankook Tire Dealer. I did and this dealer was not aware of any such problem. I called Hankook back and this rep told me that the Ford dealer such handle problem. I called dealer where car was purchased and Ford Dealer Troy, AL. and spoke with Clint in service he knew nothing of Hankook Tire problem and said it was not covered anyway. So, apparently no one knows although I can read on internet of problems and the SSM47195 alert. It is my opinion the buck is being passed and someone is going to get seriously injured or killed when a tire explodes or comes apart. My awesome Ford Service Rep – Chris Johnson made me aware of the Hankook Pro Rated deal today.
I received $190 per tire if I chose another Hankook tire to replace. Of course I did! Basically for the cost of installation, I got a set of new Tires that are replacing a practically bald set with 22K miles after rotating every Oil Change.
