I got a 2012 Ford F150 - Same issues as above, most 2012's are covered mine is slightly over the manufacture date and the lead assembly is NOT covered. However, a software update for a faulty speed sensor is, so they know they have an issue but even after the software update and still issues of downshifting and stuck in gear they will not cover to replace the lead assembly which will take care of faulty sensor. Someone will get hurt bad in an accident!!

my 2011 F150 3.5 L Ecoboost has had the same issue....sporadic downshifting...etc... but like many, mine wasn't included in the recall as it was not made in the right factory. Go figure. It gets worse..my mechanic now tells me that the problematic speed sensor/lead frame has led to a bad transmission. $7,500 is what it will cost me to fix! How come I had the same exact problem as others but no coverage for trucks not made in the 2 named factories? Not sure where the money will come from to fix it. Step up Ford

My 2013 F150 with 3.5 v.6 and 6 speed auto has done all of the above.... And I had only bought it five days before the speedometer went to zero, wrench light illuminated, air bag light came on, transmission abruptly downshifted from 6th to 1st on freeway at 69 mph, locking tires up and causing a 100+ foot skid on my brand new tires. I was nearly rear-ended by another full size pickup and I was barely able to keep it in my lane before pulling off in a very unsafe spot along the highway. Immediately I cycled engine off and started back up and a motor knock was present. After tow, repair shop says low end motor knock, tearing into to diagnose, must fix motor before transmission can be diagnosed.... Very scary and dangerous transmission issue. My wife and kids will not ride in it until fixed. $22,000 for a pickup we loved and could have cost me my life. Had zero issues with the motor until the transmission downshifted at 69 miles an hour now have a major issue with the motor and the transmission. Great oil pressure ran like a dream I absolutely was in love with this pickup. It's been in the shop 5 days now with no end in sight. I've been reading about all the complaints and issues with the problem I described above but yet the recall only covers 2011 and 2012 F-150s. As a former automobile and heavy equipment mechanic I would bet anything it's the same exact issue as the recalled pickups so why is mine not included? Ford what are you going to do when someone gets hurt bad?

It will NOT be covered. I am finding that out the hard way. I never received the recall notice that’s cusses the lead frame to go out due to the dealership sending it to my physical and not my mailing address.
Neither FORD nor the dealer will cover the cost of the repair.
