I took my car in to the dealer on 5/18/2017 and the BCM update CRASHED-failed. My car has been in the shop for going on five weeks and will not even run. I have been told by Ford that this problem has occurred on multiple vehicles. What is Ford doing for the customers that now do not have use of their vehicles? I assume all of the customers are in rental vehicles as I am.

The new BCM software will change the liftgate operation requiring the interior button on the lighting control panel to be pressed twice to open the liftgate when the doors are locked.

What does Ford’s fix actually do? Does it eliminate push button hatch release altogether? Or only allow it when the car is off? Or when the vehicle is not in motion? Or…?
