I have the same issue. I took the car to a dealership three times with this issue, they replaced the half shafts, but the clunking is still there. Frankly, I am not sure what is the relation between the half shafts and the gear linkage aside of these connected to the same transmission box. The clunking is annoying, and the second gear does not engage smoothly, so forget about quick starts.

In reply to <a href="https://ford.oemdtc.com/1725/clunk-noise-shifting-from-1st-to-2nd-gear-2016-2017-ford-fiesta/comment-page-1/#comment-63">Nick</a>.

I have a 2017 Fiesta ST and the clunk started at 1,000 miles. Now at 3500 miles I get a clunk shifting at low speeds and about 3,000 RPM driving around town or the neighborhood. At higher RPM's no clunk or I can not hear it. The Ford dealer thinks it's in the transmission. Waiting on Ford Engineering to decide course of action. Check out all the problems Honda is having with the Civic Type R transmission.
