You are correct, contact NHSTA at 1-888-327-4236, and Ford at 1-866-436-7332, they will force your dealer to complete the recall.

My dealer is trying to make me pay to replace potential damage resulting from replacing the fuel tank including potentially the fuel pump assembly. They will not complete the recall until I agree to pay as they say the recall does not cover rust. It is my understanding that the recall must be completed at no charge no matter what is required to complete the recall. Is that correct?

All Recalls are in effect until they are completed, or the vehicle is destroyed.

Hi! I just purchased a 2007 Ford Edge that is included in this recall but the recall was never repaired/replaced and dealer states I have to take it to a ford dealership to get the recall fixed. The recall is still in effect and able to be fixed now correct? I have an appointment to take it to the Ford dealership next week for the recall.
