I was recently told the same, 40k miles on a car that smells new. Airbags never deployed, no accidents to vehicle. Ford says – sorry our product isn’t as good as other manufacturers. Guess what – you don’t stand behind your product then I don’t want your product and will not purchase your product again. Neither will the rest of my family & I will share this with everyone I know. It didn’t help that the service representative didn’t seem to care.

If you car is out of warranty this is a $600 repair that is a known Ford issue. This happened to my 2015 Ford Explorer at 37,000 miles and I was told I was SOL… had to pay to get it fixed if I wanted to have airbags.

Ford Warranty was no help and very rude to me as she read her script.
